Current setup of my Homelab:

  • Raspberry Pi 4B with PoE hat - Standalone
  • Raspberry Pi 4B Argon One M2 (256?) - Standalone
  • Intel NUC 7th gen - as Proxmox node
  • Intel NUC 7th gen - as Proxmox node
  • Synology DS412+ 4-Bay NAS

This hardware is ready to be mounted in my [[10-inch-server-rack]]. I am still not sure if I want to squeeze the NAS in there as well.

I use Proxmox as the virtualisation platform. Most installs start from the Proxmox VE Helper Scripts, because they save a lot of boring setup time. The PVE post-install script is also one I keep coming back to.

Currently running:

  • Homepage (LXC): General dashboard for quick access to all running services.
  • Nginx Proxy Manager (LXC): Entry point for HTTP(S) traffic from the internet to the services.
  • Home Assistant (VM): One place for the smart devices in and around the house.
  • Unifi Network Controller (LXC): Unifi network management tool.
  • PiHole (LXC): Network AD blocker.
  • N8N (LXC): Workflow automation platform.
  • Docker (LXC): Run custom containers.
  • Tailscale (VM): Secure connection to Homelab from anywhere.
  • Crafty (LXC): Minecraft server.
